I have the worst luck when it comes to batteries. First, my Samsung Note 4 battery decided it could not hold a charge for more than a couple of minutes after only a year and half of ownership. Then I got the Samsung Note 7 and we all know the issue there.

But why are batteries such an issue? Further, with technology advancing so quickly, why do phone batteries still suck? Have researchers found a longer-lasting battery?

It’s something that most of us go through every few years when our service plans offer us an upgrade or we happen to drop them in such a way that there is no way they can be repaired. With so many different phones out on the market, it can be really tough to work out which device you should get.

5 Apps That Had A Big Impact on Me in 2016

In the last couple of years I’ve tried to look for apps that made a big and positive impact in my life. Not just fun games or another minimalist markdown editor, but apps that helped me do something different and live in a better way.

Last year, the big theme in my app choices was health as I had started a good health routine using some of these apps. This year, the biggest impact has come in the form of “Deep Work” and idea from Cal Newport that I’ve sort to apply to my life and help me truly focus on a single and important task at once.

Unlike the last two years, I wouldn’t really say that these apps “changed my life,” but they really made a noticeable difference and helped me a lot. So with that in mind check out these great apps:

2016 has come and is almost gone. It has been quite the year. We have seen some crazy things happen in 2016 from the wild US Election and the Cubs winning the World Series, to the many changes in technology and modes of communication, 2016 was a memorable year. To look at everything that happened would take more time than you have to read this. Simplenote: Overshadowing Evernote

Evernote was one of my go-to apps. I used it so regularly and loved it so much that I even created a to-do list template to go along with it. My workflow revolved around Evernote to a huge degree, but then…

Beginning today, the prices for our Plus and Premium tiers will change for new subscriptions, and access from Evernote Basic accounts will be limited to two devices.

Initially, I chose to use my laptop and my iPhone, removing the app from my iPad, but then, I got a second laptop (one loaned to me from my work, one personally owned) and needed a better system but wasn’t ready to make a decision. For the time being, I was limping along with the standard Apple Notes app.
