Most organizations that I’ve worked for have a pretty well-defined process in terms of how things are done and how websites and products are rolled out.
I’ve found that most non-profits and ministry organizations would rather strategically leverage the Holy Spirit for guidance rather than a well-laid out strategy for executing on projects.
[Please note sarcasm]
Whether this has to do more with the leadership or the process is an interesting discussion. For the sake of the argument, I’d venture to say that it’s typically both.
So where does your organization fall? Cooties anyone?

I’ve heard before of leaders doing this exact thing. I’m not discounting the power of the Holy Spirit, (It’s the “Forgotten God”), but there is a point where we’re praying for wisdom, and God’s like, “I’ve already covered this!”. The Bible talks about finding wise council in different areas, as well as praying. Andy Stanley has a quote that basically sums this up:
“Don’t pray for wisdom in an area where you don’t have any knowledge. That’s not wisdom. Wisdom says go and find knowledgeable people.”

Perfect cartoon and snappy-short blog. SO AGREE.
With many clients we have to really unpack and define the word “strategy” (and other words like branding and marketing, etc)
We absolutely value vision and “gut” with fear and trembling. But execution is like building a house… You plan and count the cost.

Instead of listing where my organization falls… let’s just say that I agree with you. 😉
