Credibility is an interesting thing online – it seems that anyone and everyone can “have” it at any given time!
But how do you distance yourselves from those that are just creating bogus content (there’s a lot of it!)?
Here are a few things that I’ve learned a long the way to help your blog posts be (and stay) believable:
1. Testimonies
A testimony is a powerful thing – we would know that intimately, right? Providing a credible and recognizable testimony from someone can be a healthy addition to a blog post!
2. Personal Stories
A personal story about the topic of conversation can be of terrific help and help bridge the gap between hearsay and truth. Sure this can be abused but it’s far too easy to find someone “out” in the online world so most people won’t commit to lying. Personal anecdotes have worked tremendously well!
3. Research
Do your homework! I have to spend hours and hours of time doing research for my papers for Seminary so I’m used to it, but for most people it can be drudgery. Let me be the first to tell you that the time spent in doing a little research to help you prove a point can go a long way!
4. Imagery
Charts, graphs, nice imagery and screenshots can provide that visual proof that you might just need. Some people simply need to “see it to believe it,” so why not do some of that work for them? Grab some imagery to help you out!
5. Structuring Content Wisely
You can make extremely complicated information and arguments simple by simply laying out the content in an easy-to-see and read format. Bullets, numbering, and strategic uses of h2/h3 title tags can really help provide an easy-reading experience.
Do the work for your readers!

These are a great resource to speak boldly about your subject and to present the correct content. Good stuff.
Don’t be lazy could also be on the list.
