For a little while now, The Social Network has been in production (also referred to as “The Facebook Movie” by some).
A week or so ago, the first teaser hit the Interwebs. Have look:
Social networking has definitely revolutionized online communication and publication but we’re all well aware of the constant privacy issues and levels of scrutiny networks receive based on how they handle users data. Some would argue that alone could generate enough drama for a movie.
Personally, I’d be more interested in seeing how much of the business decisions are made regarding these sites and applications.
Who knows how accurate the movie is really going to be? After all, the industry could always be capitalizing on current pop culture to turn a profit. Wouldn’t be the first time.
And I’ve got to say that, ironically enough, this trailer was discovered via social networking.
Anyway, think you’ll see it?

Andrew Mason says
That wasn’t Michael Cera’s face, was it?
….Either way…..yep. I’ll see it.
Tom says
Pretty sure it was Jesse Eisenberg (they do look a lot alike).
Still dunno if I’ll see it or wait to Netflix it..
John Saddington says
bleh.
Carlos Franco says
Yea I will probably see it. It’s going to be like that silicon valley movie with Bill Gates a bunch of years ago. Plus I think it will give all Internet guru’s a shimmering chance of hope once they realize that they aren’t any different than this guy. Hehe
Tom says
I think that it’s definitely aiming to be in the same vein as Pirates of Silicon Valley and maybe I’m being cynical or just in denial, but I can’t help but think that the story of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs is exponentially more interesting than that of Mark Zuckerberg.
Graham Brenna says
Yup… I’ll see it. That promo sucked though. Just sayin
Tom says
The second promo that they released is very similar to this except a lot the spoken word is displayed as status updates. Heh.
Eric says
Lame teaser
Tom says
Haha – trying to make drama out of … a website …? 😉
