From Legal Pad to iPad: The Evernote To-Do List

Lists are amazing. I love lists. Whether’s Letterman’s Top Ten List—Dave, you will be missed—or those stupid “list-idles” that are so popular on the web, I have a deep, abiding appreciation for lists.

Especially when it comes to getting things done!

I’ve blogged a lot over the years about apps and notebooks and various things that could possibly/maybe sorta/kinda help one get their tasks organized and, more importantly, done. However, nothing has really made the different for me.

I tried Things. I tried Wunderlist. I tried Producteev. God, help me, I tried Reminders. Nothing did the trick, so I did it myself by going analog.

For about three months, I went old school. Yellow. Legal. Pad. Boom! Then, I added a clipboard and a manila folder, to complete the 1980’s trifecta. Check it out:

Taking the Leap from Android to Apple

It’s no secret… in a world of several OS choices, all of which tickle my fancy, Android tickles it the most. Customization, administrative privileges and the second best ecosystem in all of mobility are easy to fall in love with. I am quite comfortable using any of the major four, and to be fair, when it’s all said and done, I still believe it’s the ecosystem that makes or breaks the OS.

With regards to Apple’s iOS, my initial derision has mostly shifted to grudging respect and onto straight admiration. A lot of the gripes I have had in the past continue to get sidelined with every update to the OS, and the inherent smoothness of the OS matches the beauty of the hardware. Even iTunes doesn’t annoy as much as it used to.

Snapchat: It’s Not Just Naked Selfies [Video]

Before you start clicking on this video like a crazy person, let me first warn you that there are a couple of language bits you may not appreciate — but nothing you wouldn’t hear on most popular television shows or movies. I just wanted to give you a heads-up before blasting your volume around your kids or the middle of the church soundbooth with the ladies prayer group within earshoot.

That all being said, I wouldn’t be posting this and sharing it with you if I didn’t think there was a net gain and it was well worth your time.

This video really frames and clears-up what Snapchat is all about. Snapchat has gotten a bad-rap — for good reason — but it has evolved into a legitimate medium of communication and storytelling. A medium that the Church should not ignore.
