Before you start clicking on this video like a crazy person, let me first warn you that there are a couple of language bits you may not appreciate — but nothing you wouldn’t hear on most popular television shows or movies. I just wanted to give you a heads-up before blasting your volume around your kids or the middle of the church soundbooth with the ladies prayer group within earshoot.
That all being said, I wouldn’t be posting this and sharing it with you if I didn’t think there was a net gain and it was well worth your time.
This video really frames and clears-up what Snapchat is all about. Snapchat has gotten a bad-rap — for good reason — but it has evolved into a legitimate medium of communication and storytelling. A medium that the Church should not ignore.
Watch and learn:
Snapchat isn’t about naked selfies.
No, Snapchat is a raw, real time storytelling medium that has hit a nerve in the newest online generation.
We can’t ignore it.
But before we can successfully leverage it, we must first understand it.
I hope this video helped.

Really interesting, I know about how people use Vine to tell stories but I have no idea about snapchat.

I know, right!?!

So the big ? is – HOW? Should the church use it to highlight events? share moments I guess? it’s an interesting thing to wrap your head around…

Yeah, I reallly like this idea of using a storytelling medium platform. What stories does the church have to tell? How can you harness the power of Snapchat? Can you use it share truths from a good sermon? How? It seems like it needs to be a story told through visuals.
I am curious as to others ideas for harnessing the power of this social medium for the kingdom. We have the greatest story to tell – let’s get it out there. Ideas?
