I was rollin’ around Spotify this week when I rolled up on the Christian hip hop artist Applejaxx.
What caught my eye was his song: NERDS.

“Blessed Assurance: The New Hymns of Fanny Crosby” is what happens when you marry unfinished and never-before-published Fanny Crosby hymns with the craftsmanship of today’s gifted worship songwriters/artists.
This resultant project is a unique blend of the old and the new, remarkable in quality and a delightful gift to the church at large—an exceptional achievement of 15 carefully selected songs from 2,700 unpublished and unfinished compositions by this great hymn writer!
This has to be the most fitting tribute to the legacy of Crosby, published almost a century after her death!
I’ve been a fan of Five Iron Frenzy for a long time, and around this time two years ago, I was bringing you a review of their “comeback album,” Engine of a Million Plots. It’s a great album that holds up up, and now, they’ve released an EP of B-Sides and rarities originally recorded for EOMP.
Between the Pavement and the Stars is a deep, haunting album that’s perfectly suited for a dark and dreary winter that is lacking snow but suffering from an abundance of rain and discontent.
I purchased my copy of the album about a month ago, and I love every track! Here’s the official track list:

October sixteenth of this year, new and up-coming artist Hollyn released a six song EP self-entitled Hollyn.
She was featured on TobyMac’s latest album This Is Not A Test (on the songs: Backseat Driver and Light Shine Bright) and my sister and I were really, really impressed with her voice and then looked her up – but were disappointed to find that she hadn’t done anything else before that. 🙁
So we were super excited when we found out that she had released an EP. Our whole family has been enjoying it for months now and can’t wait till she releases her next album. 😀

Back in 2014, Gospel music powerhouse vocalist Tasha Cobbs took the world by storm with the release of her project “Grace.” The project (which was an EP) went on to score the singer Dove Awards, Stellar awards, Grammy Awards and an (almost) endless place on the Billboard Gospel Chart. Everyone in the gospel music scene was talking or singing her hit single “Break Every Chain.” Then tragedy struck. She lost her father just days after the Dove Awards.
Fast forward to 2015, the singer has mourned, battled depression, celebrated her success, and is back with a new praise and worship album.
The new album “One Place Live” was recorded live at Redemption Church in Greenville, South Carolina, with hundreds of worshippers present, “One Place Live” is a 16-track album that mirrors Tasha Cobbs musical styling – passionate, spirit-filled and heart-tugging. She brought to the record some artists and together they made this compilation another groundbreaking Gospel album.
Here are five outstanding tunes from the album…
