My good friend Jarrett Stevens is killing it with his newly launched ministry, Soul City Church, going live in Chicago. It’s going to be off the hook, and if you’re not following what they’re doing then you’re missing out.
For example, check out this post titled “Church on the Cheap” where Jarrett shares his thoughts about bootstrapping a ministry with excellence.
He covers a few technology-related ideas (and certainly principles) that would interest this community:
- Asking God to Give You Stuff
- Ask People to Give You Stuff
- Outsourcing
- Staff Creatively
- Saying No
This is excellent stuff and it’s been a blast to see him launch and have the opportunity to learn from a guy that’s doing it, not just saying stuff with little follow through; he’s got a pair.
Or, check out this post about “Designing Church” where he outlines his approach to design: It’s all about people. I so dig this it hurts. I think we forget this far too often, and even I design for aesthetics and appearance far too often.
Jarrett and Jeanne have Superman-sized dreams on a Lego-sized budget. I love it; they’re making it happen.
