College has been completely altered by technology. What was once a time of sitting in the library, researching for papers, and studying to the early hours of morning has shifted completely to a technological path.
Instead of being in the library scanning through book after book and getting a fully comprehensive knowledge (some would say useless) of a topic, we can now simply search what others have found and start from there (though we are beginning to fragment and even misquote content).
The searches have become much faster and with this new method of learning comes a revision in how colleges distribute technology. Podcasts and ebooks are the new medium of choice for many students and it looks like it could replace much of the hardback books in the future.
Here are some of the craziest statistics of this infographic:
- 27% of students say their laptop is the most important item in their backpack
- 3 out of 4 students say they wouldn’t be able to study without technology.
- A University of Maryland study found that a 24 hour fasting from technology actually produced addiction withdrawal symptoms.

How does this new way of learning from a different medium effect how we study Scripture and approach the younger generations when they study it as well?
