Shortly after Standard Theme 2.5’s release, WordPress release an update that provided several new features to the core application. We also identified a number of areas that we could continue to improve our theme.
Over the past couple of months, we’ve been heads down at work on the latest version of Standard Theme – as of today, version 2.6 is now available for purchase and download.
This update brings a number of notable fixes and new features…
- Improved error handling for cases in which the theme is not correctly installed
- Support for WordPress Post Formats
- Introduced a global loop file used by each of the various page types
- Improvements to SEO-specific features
- …and much more
You can read the list of updates on State of the 8.
Standard Theme 2.6 also launches with a new homepage and upgrade kit (beta). For those of you that are currently running Standard Theme 2.5.4, you can grab a copy of the Upgrade Kit from the Support Forums after which you simply copy the files into your exisiting installation.
Check it out and enjoy!
