I’ve never been a super-big user of video and podcasting technologies but I’ll be the first to let you know that I’m spending more and more time there (so expect a few neat things coming down the pipe here with the 8BIT Team…).
There are a number of options that exist already for Video and Podcasting but none that look as nice as MediaCore does right out of the box. They’ve just recently announced their first public release ever with version 0.8RC1 and I’m taking a careful look at it.
And perhaps you and your ministry should too, because it looks pretty darn robust.
You can read here what some of their new updates have been and one of the more exciting features is the use of HTML5 video players which, of course, will be iPad and iPhone compatible.

I can easily see a number of ministries leveraging this for their needs and with it being Open Source you may just save yourself a few bucks too – just make sure you can install it and manage it well!
Love to see some live examples; if you’ve got one, drop us a line!

Wow, looks like this has the potential to be a great fit for what we’ve been looking for. At Connexus Community Church in Ontario we’ve been using blip.tv, and I’ve been looking around for alternate options, especially since Blip isn’t showing signs of hopping on the HTML5 bandwagon. I’ll definitely be doing some research and I’ll keep you posted. Haven’t managed a system like this before, but it certainly seems worth looking into.
Interested too to hear what others think..
Thanks John!

Dang, typo, *facepalm* John can you edit line 1 to read “Wow, looks like this has the potential to be a great fit for what we’ve been looking for.”? and delete this comment? Thanks man!
Praying for everyone this Sunday at NP, pretty sure a bunch from our team will be attending for a pre-drive sunday!

MediaCore definitely has a lickable interface; still one of the smartest around.
Another one of my favourite web app UIs is GetQuantify.
