When to comes to editing markup, styles, and JavaScript on the fly, Firebug is the weapon of choice for many developers. And rightly so.
As great as Firebug is given the proper context, there are some really cool alternative tools available that are a bit more flexible when it comes to writing, editing, and testing code.
Take a look at jsFiddle…
Essentially, jsFiddle is a sandbox application written by the CSSDesk team targeting web developers.
Yeah, it can be used in a variety of ways but it’s clearly geared towards working with fragments of code, though nothing would really prevent you from working with an entire page, stylesheet, or set of functions.
jsFiddle has support for MooTools, jQuery, Prototype, Dojo, Processing.js, and more all of which can be included in your current project.
You can also add external resources, additional meta info, and test Ajax requests. The application also has automated indenting and syntax highlighting.
jsFiddle is still considered Alpha, but it’s an incredibly robust utility for that particular stage of development.

This looks like a slick tool for JavaScript.
But I’m definitely a JS n00b so I wouldn’t know.
Here’s my attempt.
