I have met with a lot of once-passionate church leaders in the past few weeks who, for whatever reason, have felt beaten down and are thinking about giving up.
Don’t. Please. There is still so much good work to be done.
I have also been reminded that our work is oftentimes not pleasurable nor fun; it can be extremely difficult, taxing, and heartbreaking. Our goal is not to find the path of least resistance nor is it to find the path that’s least painful but rather to open to the path that God has set before us so that we might, in obedience, walk with Him in faith.
Even in terms of the technologically challenges that you might face: Don’t give up. When you really dig in deep you realize that the issues are far less technical as they are leadership, culture, context, and people.
In fact, it’s more of a spiritual challenge than anything else.
Praying for you guys…!

One lesson from the video is that we have to learn how to fall gracefully, so we can get up, bruises and all, and keep moving faithfully forward.
John Saddington says
that’s a good point as well…!

That is ridiculous! I love it.

Wow. I haven’t been by for a while, and randomly (or not) thought, “I wonder what’s up at ChurchCrunch” these days.
I quit my ministry job last week. Not really, but in my head. It’s been a really worthless couple weeks and I half-decided just the other day, “I can’t do this anymore. I can’t live this for another ten years.”
So maybe not. Thanks.

Thanks I needed that. One thing I learned is that we all need to learn to fall so we can get back up again and try all over.
