But you should really try to make it consistent. Check this site out in different browsers (Firefox, Safari, etc.).

I tried it in IE7 on my work computer. It won't give me the "Greetings, Modern Browser People" message. Smart website. =)

Here's another example. Look at these images from Jeremy Cowart in Safari and then Firefox. This has to do with color profiles JPEG's are exported in.
