Just watch this video and listen to how ridiculous hard it is to understand. What’s so funny is that it’s an “instructional” video.
Now, of course, it could have been used for a very specific audience who’d know all of the verbiage and such, but the point is that it seems over the top and too complex for it’s own good.
I have found that a number of “technologists” barter their skills and knowledge as something to be proud of and “control” the passage of knowledge and information for their own devices.
Beware of these poo-faces, because that’s who they are and what they want to do to your ministry: poo poo on your party.
Fabricating complexity is stupid and an obvious waste of time. It benefits no one and frustrates everyone.
Look for (and hire) people who make complex things easy to understand and people who desire to serve those that aren’t as technologically-savvy. Otherwise you find yourself working with people that make others feel dumb.

I was wondering what that clinking sound was in my engine…it's probably the dingle arm.
Justin Wise says
Hee hee. Dingle.

The "sinusoidial deplenoration" part threw me there. I kept up until that line.

That video seems like it belongs in a Saturday Night Live episode.

The "moxie interrupter"…that was the problem.

I felt a little that way at the recent Ministry2.0 conference on social media. Networkers and IT people have created their own language which is just as foreign as this video: "feedburner" "widget" "retool" "microblog" "platforms" "CMS"
"Joomla" – some mean something totally different in another field (or world) – All I'm saying is we all need to be aware that what can seem obvious or simple to one person can be quite daunting to the uninitiated.
human3rror says
that's a great critique… we need to be careful to make sure we make it simple not hard…!
Clay_Conry says
This same critique could be levied against many pastors w/ their use of "in the greek" and other such confusing language

ouch!
