With all of the creative digital photography apps available for smartphones, it’s cool to see artists using traditional photographs and organic design to manipulate the photos to create something a little different, but mostly inspiring.
Raleigh-based artist and landscape architect Scott Hazard uses carefully layered photographs to create delicately torn concentric shapes symbolizing plumes of smoke, clouds, and mysterious portals in walls. Hazard has also used adaptations of the same technique to create a number of fantastic typographic works he calls Text Constructs.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could do a little more with all those beautiful Instagram photos?

Finally…
I believe that we can say with a high degree of certainty that the insanely popular image sharing application known as Instagram may not be an iOS-exclusive much longer. (Yes, I know it has been on its way to Android for a very, very long time, but still).
While chatting with TechCrunch, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom all but showed off a version of the app for Android, while pointing out that he felt it might be “better” than the iOS port.
Personally (and please don’t stone me here), while Instagram does intrigue me, most of its allure has eluded me. Still, I am happy more people (self included) will have access to the application.
27 million registered users cannot all be wrong, can they?
