A couple of days ago you saw Eric’s post about Amazing Animated GIFs.
Well, I was spurred on by that and used a tutorial from the people over at Lifehacker to make one of my daughter reading:
For clarification, a cinemagraph is an animated GIF that has isolated, looping motion. These things draw attention to the motion and make it seem almost like a still picture, but it clearly isn’t because certain details are moving.
If you want to learn how to do it yourself, just watch this video:
(You’ll need Photoshop if you want to follow the tutorial directly.)

What ideas can you create to advance the Gospel with animated GIFs/cinemagraphs?

There are a couple of (free) iPhone apps that do this. I believe it was Kinotopic that I heard of from Swissmiss. But Cinemagram also looks promising.
Search for “cinemagraphs” in the app store. Wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they exist as desktop apps too.

Thanks. I’m sure they’re much easier to use than Photoshop. This one took me about 3 hours (tons of mistakes and a full hard drive, so that’s partly why), but then again I had tons of control. Maybe I’ll try an app next.
