With the summer nearing its end and autumn beginning to take shape, this is a stunning new double album that suits the season perfectly.
Over the Rhine are the singer-songwriting husband and wife duo of Karin Bergquist and Linford Detweiler. I first them on Noisetrade in December 2012 with their Christmas album, Snow Angel; and from the very first notes I was hooked (Snow Angel isn’t you average Christmas album either)! I then got their previous album ‘The Long Surrender’ and they rapidly have become one of my favorite groups.

Miley Cyrus, the artist formally known as the sweet loving, All-American girl, Hannah Montana, put on…uh…an interesting performance.
Nobody is talking about Robin Thicke (who received much of Miley Cyrus’ twerking) or Lady Gaga’s dress made from meat, the real headline grabber with this story is the stark evolution Cyrus has made in her obscene rebranding. If Miley wanted attention, it worked. But as I say to my kids, “Is that the kind of attention you want?”

I’ve followed The Rabbit Room and the great artists that hang around there since it first opened its doors, but there are a few artists that I have yet to fully discover. One of those artists was Andy Gullahorn.
I had heard his name plenty of times and love the music created by his peers, but had never given his music a fair shake until recently when it was made available via NoiseTrade.
I was hooked.
Andy Gullahorn is one of the most honest lyricist I’ve heard—so refreshing!
