I love being able to use my Nexus 7 (Thanks Jesse Gruber) to check my Google Analytic statistics! Maybe the best part about this is not the daily or monthly statistics, but simply breaking down all of the small details about the visitors and page views. Let’s see if we can work on these pageviews and get them back up to where they were before I took 6 weeks off of consistent marketing.

Finding and Photographing Pop Culture Locations [Photos]
Bob Egan is a pop culture detective.
He’s found several album cover photo locations and created these amazing photos — mixing the photo of the modern day location with the album cover transposed over it.
Brilliant.
Take a look at these photos of both album covers and films shots:

The Social Church: A Theology of Digital Communication [GIVEAWAY]
Stories are timeless. Whether passed along to the next generation by an oral tradition or the written word, stories permeate millennia. The stories we care about most are part of our story. Family background, origins of faith, cultural milestones, who was where at major moments in history.
Stories matter because people matter. We long for a sense of connectedness and community. We are social creatures. Across oceans and across time, stories tie us together.
With the advancement of technology the world has grown smaller. Mankind’s reach extends around the globe. Story keeps us connected. How we communicate that story progresses with technology.

Wearable Technology in the Church: Why Not?
You forgot your Bible again? How? You got the hoodie Bible for Christmas!
How does Danny always forget the sheet music? After all, the choir committee did spring for that new music hat.
Pastor Joe had NO excuse to run over on Sundays any more. His Bible is on his watch now!
I’m telling you folks: the wearable technology revolution is upon us.
I don’t think we really need to worry about scripture-enabled frocks and robes just yet. I mean, church creatives are still getting church folks on Twitter, and people of all ages are still blown away by the Bible App on my phone. We clearly still have plenty of work to do. But if CES is any indication, the avalanche is coming, and it might be time for church techies to get the snowboards out.

Church Marketing Inspiration: The Pumpkin Church
Last month, ChurchMag guest author Pregan Pillay wrote about Influence Through Ministry Branding and Church Marketing.
He talked about how some churches have an ‘old school’ mindset in how a church should market themselves, while at the same time, recognizing the pitfall that some churches fall into as they try to become the ‘coolest church on the block.’
This prompted a response from Rev. Jim Liberatore of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church that landed in my inbox — it is awesome:
