Having read many ‘too good to be true’ tips and trick on monetizing anything via social media, I’m a little weary when something is presented as ‘the next big opportunity’.
This infographic shows the opportunities YouTube offers. One little sentence struck me:
“20% of respondents are making a full-time living from YouTube activities”
Now we all know how popular YouTube is and not just within one age group (though young people certainly favor this social medium). But 20% out of a little over a 100 respondents making a living off their YouTube income, that’s a lot.
Could YouTube really be ‘the next big thing’ then? [Read more…] about Is YouTube A Missed Opportunity For You? [Infographic]

Coffee + Design + Kickstarter = Awesome.

Apple’s WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) takes place in San Francisco every summer, and it might just be one of the biggest tech events of the year. Only 5,000 tickets are made available every year, and they sell out immediately! Last year, it took two hours. This year, it took two minutes!
Clearly, many people want to be at this event at which Apple routinely unveils major software and hardware updates. Plus, since it’s a five-day event, there are also tons of ways to learn more about developing from the very people who created and now maintain the platform you’re developing for. Awesome, right?
My question to you this: Could the Church benefit from something similar?
No, we don’t have a platform that requires such a massive conference/PR event, but what if we tweaked it just a little.

This year is the year of growing into the brand as last year was a strong year of simply establishing who we were, networking to get the name out, and creating some great content for 78P and the other blogging friends that we love. It should also be noted that these are all of our goals for the blog, including how we will use social media as well as network with other bloggers and viewers. We want to take the finest parts of our blog that have the greatest potential for growth and so we are putting all of our eggs in this basket.
