Another post about Angry Birds … *sigh* …
Don’t distress! Here are some things you don’t know about Angry Birds:
- 75 million people play it.
- Users spend a total estimated 200 million minutes a day playing it.
- The Finnish company that created the app just raised $42 million in new capital to fuel new creations.
- The company had developed 51 other games before they became successful with Angry Birds
- They were on the verge of bankruptcy less than two years ago.
- They nearly abandoned the project several times.
- The company founders did not fire Angry Bird creator Jaakko Iisalo, even though he had previously pitched hundreds of dumb and/or unsuccessful ideas.
- In Alfred Hitchcock’s movie The Birds, the scene where Tippi Hedren appears to be ravaged by angry birds near the end of the movie, took a week to shoot. In fact, the birds were not angry, but attached to her clothes by long nylon threads so they could not get away.
- There are no plans to use nylon threads as a gaming element in future releases of Angry Birds.
Now, no one can accuse you of being a bird brain when it comes to Angry Birds.
