A fascinating (and somewhat alarming) study (if you want to call it that) was done with consumers where the iPhone was voted a more important invention that the toilet, among other things.
The wheel was #1 with the airplane taking second place. But the internet was #4 and the personal computer #5…!
Wow. That’s just weird:
A study of 4,000 consumers also placed the Apple smart phone – which has sold 42 million units since its launch in 2007 – ahead of the car, camera and flushing toilet.
The wheel was voted as the most important invention in history, with the aeroplane in second place, the lightbulb third, the worldwide web fourth and computers fifth.
Seriously?
I enjoy technology a lot and I thank God for it every single day but I really like the toilets that we use at home and in the work place more than my iPhone that carries a copy of Tetris on it…
Where the heck have our priorities gone? Are we mad?

Is a toilet really that important if you aren’t able to play tetris while using it?
I think not.
Adam Lehman says
I’d vote for my iphone over all those things.
Steven Rossi says
I’m sorry, but as much as I like my iPhone, I’d give it up any day of the week if you said I could never use a toilet again.
Brett Barner says
Yikes, alarming indeed.
