How does your Church use Twitter?
Many larger Churches have a robust Twitter account. News, views and upcoming events, are contently bubbling on the Church’s Twitter. Of course, these are the same Churches that have media personnel on staff.
What about the smaller Churches that don’t have a paid media staff?

My favorite part of VBS was always:
Snack time!
Seriously.
As a kid and adult, I looked forward to VBS snacks. Those kitchen ladies would always try to match the snacks with the VBS theme. Sometimes it was a stretch, but it was always fun, and was never disappointing.
What was often disappointing was the themes themselves. As of late, I’ve seen many Churches develop their own themes, and done an outstanding job!
Has anyone ever thought about doing a Star Wars themed VBS?
If so, I’ve got the snacks all lined-up for you:

Facebook wasn’t designed for Churches.
I recently read about Mom’s who are using Facebook to host live auctions for children’s clothing. Being completely based on the honor system, I guess this is a slick way to avoid eBay fees? A few do it from home, while other auction hosts are from larger organizations. At a scheduled time, these kid clothes auctions post a picture, the price, the sizes, and the auction begins!
I’m sure this isn’t what Mark had in mind when he started Facebook.
Just because Facebook wasn’t designed for this, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. The same goes for Churches.
I would characterize my experience online as a “neverending quest to find a new emoticon.” It’s like alchemy really, or coining a new phrase. Just imagine creating an emoticon that suddenly captures the national consciousness. When :>$ is the most used emoticon of 2011, you’ll know who to thank. 😀
Regardless, I’ve put together an infographic that will guide you through the difficult, complex waters of conveying emotion in a digital world. Imagine the disaster of using an 😛 when a :-/ is appropriate.
This is real, ladies and gentlemen, don’t mess it up.
