As a Church professional, I am always looking for new ways to market without breaking the bank.
How JetBlue Became a Leader in Twitter Marketing
Airline giant JetBlue turned to Twitter as one way to monitor its brand. Thousands of travelers were tweeting about their in-flight experiences, whether on JetBlue or other airlines.
The airline’s social media team began by responding to customers one by one, startling the otherwise-disgruntled traveler in the nicest possible way. The outreach customer service established @jetblue as one of the first large companies to truly have a voice on the social web.

Thoughts on Church Logos
I’m sure we’ve all seen our fair share of terrible logos in our days, and each one is just as cringe-worthy as the last.
For me, though, it hurts even more when I see a church that has a logo that’s borderline atrocious, because to me, a logo is the first thing seekers may see when they hear about the church through modern outreach mediums like a web site, social media, or advertisements, brochures and other print material.
Church logos should be inviting – and leave people wanting to know more about this place they’re hearing about. Just like a business works to perfect it’s brand or corporate identity, a church’s logo should also be synonymous with what the church stands for, and should make people feel invited as much as a handshake on Sunday Morning does.
Here are a few things to consider, which can help make sure your church logo isn’t abysmal:

Promoting Your Work
A little while ago, I wrote this post on self-publishing. In the comments, Peter asked, “May I ask you what you do in order to market your book and get more sales for your published books?”
I directed him to a presentation I gave that I put on Slideshare called “10 Ways to Grow Your Platform in the Internet Age,” but I thought that since so many of us are trying to get the word out about ways that we help the church, I’d write a longer post about the successful steps I’m taking.
