We at 8BIT agree with Mr. Jobs on this one. Seriously.
I think a consistent hopeful outlook that we can, indeed, change the world, is a good thing to have.
It’s easier when you’re surrounded with a team that believes it too. Check this video after the jump.

We should have both the hope that we can change the world, and the understanding that we are called to do it while we’re down here breathing. Otherwise, a lot of this life would really be a waste, IMO.

I love the topic of passion. The word means different things to different people. Is it referring to suffering, emotions, or zeal? Latin tells us that it means to suffer or to be acted upon. For example the passion of Christ (suffering). The suffering also indicated a great amount of zeal and emotion also. In the earlier centuries, the church Father did not speak highly of passion because they related it to reckless emotions. These days we seem to think that passion is characterized by zeal. I could easily trick someone into thinking I was passionate by talking loud and often and getting real excited, but if there is no suffering is it really anything but hot air? It appears to me that Jesus says that a person has passion when they love something so much that they will suffer for it. (Luke 18:22; 1 Corinthians 13:1; James 2:16). That is the kind of passion that will change the world.

“Marketing is about values.” Bingo.

Right on! “People with a passion can change the world for the better.” I am totally down with this statement. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the 8Bit team and the community on this network for being somewhat of that “team of people” that surrounds each other and believes it too. I don’t have any other staff on my team at my church. I work closely with the communications team… but I’m not a part of it. It’s nice to know that my core values jive with this network’s core values.
So thanks for always encouraging us to make the world a better place!

Passionate people CAN change the world…and Steve Jobs has proven that shorts are sometimes a bad idea.

Nice. I love working with people who are passionate as well. It is contagious.
One thing that Steve Jobs is passionate about: Black turtlenecks.
