The Wii was great. The Kinect was greater.
Graphics have taken a pause, for a moment, while the demand for greater interactivity was met.
As the interactivity is now being perfected, we can safely assume the nextgen game consoles will bring a whole new level of cinematics into our game play. Not just some cheap cinema scenes before and after a level. Games will immerse more of our senses than every before.
Alan Willard of Epic Games had this to say:

This video shows graphics that are running in the Unreal Engine in real-time.
Real-time computer graphics, not a video of pre-produced computer graphic cinema scene.
The demo ran on a PC with an Intel Core i9 microprocessor with three Nvidia GeForce 580 GTX graphics cards connected through SLI technology. The demo took about three months for 12 programmers and artists to build.
How’s that?
