We’ve all been there.
You know, when you wake up and you just can’t seem to write or post anything; nothing’s coming, no inspiration, no nothing. And, to make matters worse, you’re not really feeling the motivation, the blog-love, the passion and fire. And, perhaps (to top it off) you’re just too darn busy with other things, with life (and that could be a good thing though!).
But, for whatever reason, you’ve committed to posting daily (or whatever time frame it is). You need to bust out that post.
One strategy is to break your commitment: Just don’t blog that day. This works all the time.
Another strategy that I use though is the “Series” posts, just like my “Blogger Basics” series I just finished up. A series of posts helps me stay on target and focused, and typically I have most of them written out before hand anyways.
What are some ways and strategies have you employed to help you “blog nothing (or not)”?

I love series posts when they're sprinkled in with daily posts (kinda like the blog series)…
But one big blogger went nuts writing like 17 types/ 33 steps / 9910213 different ways to skin this cat.
So I unsubscribed.
Posting daily is hard, but it's just as much about discipline as anything.
Side note: NOT posting for a period of time is hard too…try it some time.

Interesting/entertaining youtube videos can be a good gap filler when you can't come up with anything of your own.

I used to blog with b5media and was a channel editor there. I frequently dealt with this same problem both in terms of myself having to write my minimum number of posts and the bloggers I was responsible who were either dealing with it, not meeting minimums or not writing a decent quality of work. Worse still, one was trying to maintain the niche topic of the particular blog at the same time.
There are times when you cannot come up with something of your own to write about. You are drained creatively. The easiest way to get around it is to simply write a response post to something someone else had written. Having a good full list of feeds in your feedreader may be the best way to come up with that post that needs written. Not only do you come up with that particular post, you may forge a friendship or at least a good link in the process.

William,
great thoughts here! what happened to that job? sounds like a good one!

It was a great job. I really enjoyed it. Both my wife and I were channel editors with them at the time. She was the channel editor for the "Home and Dining" channel and I was the channel editor for the "Arts and Design" channel. They merged both of those channels together with the "Lifestyles" channel to create one big Martha Stewart type of channel, which today is called "Blisstree" with the exception of Darren's Digital Photography School which became it's own entity in the network.
I was offered the music channel but felt it would be awkward to continue there at the time as I was also a full-time pastor in addition to blogging. I decided at the time to throw myself into ministry with the same passion, but eventually had to give that up since church financial issues were in the way of doing that on a continual basis after our little boy was born in January. I've considered consulting or blogging somewhere else now that I am out of work and doing the stay-at-home daddy thing full-time, but nothing has presented itself as of yet so I've just been writing on my personal blog.

Sometimes, I just read the news or go to a site I often disagree with. It helps get me "all riled up" to post.

nice tactic

i'm using blogging these days to answer questions that my clients have…for instance one says "Jim,I would like a menu of 5 tools we can use right away" This became "5 Tools for Non-Profits"
The blog becomes a teaching forum where I can share this information and then send that client to my blog.

For now the blog-love-fire is just so hot that I actually need to stop myself from blogging coz I don't want to bombard my subscribers with a lot of devotions. lol! now you think that's superb commitment?
