We posted yesterday about the Sintel Project which is promoting the open source 3d Suite Blender and they just released the full short film!
You can watch it below or download it from the Vimeo link here.

Blender just got a complete user interface makeover this year with the latest release (2.5). It’s still in beta, but very usable (obviously, since they did the short film Sintel with it). If you haven’t checked out Blender recently you might want to give it another try.
ps. Blender is much more usable, however, it is still a hugely powerful program with a ton of features, so it may not be “easy”. There’s still a learning curve like there would be with any powerful program that you are unfamiliar with. It also still does things differently than other programs. You can’t go into it and expect it to be like Adobe’s products if that’s what you’re used to. In my experience as a software engineer, people’s complaints about “usability” has much more with what people are “used to” than what is actually a “good user experience”. Blender does stuff differently, but in my opinion they do a lot of things right that make it efficient and consistent to use across their huge feature set. Stick with it and you’ll be impressed at everything that’s in there and how efficiently you can get stuff done.
