For those of you working in a Windows environment and are looking to get started with Rails development, Ruby Installer is something you may be interested in checking out.
Manually installing the Ruby platform, libraries, and then installing the Rails framework can be a bit of a chore.
Using a self-contained installer help mitigate all of these issues and I definitely recommend this as the way to go for those of you looking to get your feet wet.
The team has started to run series of guides for getting started with different types of development and we’ll likely cover Ruby and Rails in the near future. Until then, try this out :).
