I’m surprised that “please RT” requests are so successful. I find them kinda rude and presumptuous when not attached to something genuinely useful to other people.

The only time I RT a “please RT” is if it is some type of emergency or quasi-emergency announcement. For example, yesterday, the city’s Humane Society building lost AC while the temperature was 112 degrees outside. They tweeted for help and asked for RT. I’m going to RT that.
Otherwise, never.
