As they say themselves, BuzzSprout.com is the “best way to publish your podcast.”
So far, from my initial look, it looks like it delivers.
Signing up was easy without a required registration email check, and customizing my look was fast. And seriously, uploading and starting it was literally a few seconds. I copied the embed code and threw it on here and look, it worked.
Wow. I really dig that. Even the email that it kicks out is actually useful, with the links to share and to embed. How functional!
With a very intuitive interface using large buttons (I love it.) I found this service very promising.
One quick *ding* against it is the level of customization at the site level (I uploaded the same background on my Twitter account but unfortunately I can’t change the background color) and I’m not a fan of the amount of Google Ads that they have, but this can be worked around if you’re embedding in your own site.
Their intro video is really all that you’ll need to really understand the service, and I’ve included it here I haven’t included it here because they’ve disabled embedding on other properties.
Sad.
Great stuff guys, looks like a good service.

This looks a lot like Vimeo. I wonder of this is by the same team? If so, I would imagine that we will see constant improvements.

it does have some similarities… it's sexy.

Hey John, the video is there now!
human3rror says

Thanks for the kind words and nice review of Buzzsprout. I just wanted to let you know that the Google ads only appear on the free plan. Once you move to any of the pay plans there are no ads at all. Cheers!

thanks for letting us know!

This looks pretty slick. I think I'd still rather use Posterous for podcasting, but this seems like a very intuitive system.
human3rror says
that it does, that it does.

I agree with this. It seems that Posterous would be better and more free for Podcasting than this one.
Andrew says
I can speak to that point with experience. I'm an admin for a podcast hosted on Posterous.

We're looking at switching our University Chapel podcast over soon as well.

This is me. It didn't log me in correctly. 😀

Posterous is a seriously great service but Buzzsprout is a full featured podcasting application and does offer a bit more specifically for podcasters. Automated file conversions and optimization, various embedding options, iTunes compatible feeds, play count stats, podcast/episode importing, etc..

I've been looking for something like this for schools radio station. They host everything for FREE?

Thanks for posting this up. This looks like a great service.
human3rror says
it does look pretty cool.

I take it that BuzzSprout only podcasts audio files? Any recommendations on sites that podcast video files?
human3rror says
