Mobile marketing is here for many businesses, but the future is unclear how long it will take for it to be fruitful. No one company is doing it perfectly. Here are some of the details of the infographic below:
- The top three age ranges for mobile browsing is 25-34, 35-44, and 18-24
- The top three things people are doing on their phone are texting, taking/looking at photos, and emailing. Shopping is the lowest on their survey.
- QR codes are becoming popular with 50% of people having scanned one and 18% purchasing the item after scanning it.
So what does this mean for churches?
Use QR codes in your bulletin, on flyers in the hallway, and any material you send home. Know that most of the people that will actually look at it are older generations. Texting and email information should always be present on any printed advertisements so that people can easily and quickly contact you (maybe even from the pews during the sermon! Can you say Q&A?!).
Have you seen any churches or ministries use mobile marketing well?

Kirk Schneemann says
The headquarters for the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Colorado Springs is filled with QR codes on everything from an office nameplate to thermostats in the hallway. This obviously not print media, per se, but a fascinating use of the technology in their facility. My tour of the building felt like a scavenger hunt with my smartphone!
