What makes a great logo?
Here are eleven logos that are done with an 8-bit flair, aka: pixelized.
- What do you think makes these logos great?
- Is it because it appeals to the eleven year old NES geek in all of us?
- Or, is it just effective design?
Take a look and tell me what you think:
If pixels make great design, why not use this style for a Church logo? Is it genre specific?
Are these really good designs or simply an appeal to nostalgia?

Did anyone else notice that “thing” is misspelled in the Pixel “tree” logo?
Gabe says
I feel that it is a little of both/and. I think that they are solid designs, but the appeal to nostalgia is what makes these good designs.
As far as using 8-bit for church logos- I don’t feel that it would be effective as the main church logo, yes it may catch an eye or two but it wouldn’t be seen as anything more than just a fad.
@Jonathan- yes I did notice!

I think you’re right, Gabe.
Maybe for a youth group logo, eh?
