I was just introduced to this concept, the “Blavatar”, which is a Blog + Avatar:
A Blavatar is an image associated with a blog. It will be displayed as the favicon for your blog, which shows up in a browser’s address bar and on browser tabs.
It will show up in the comments section of a blog if you send out any pingbacks. If anyone create a shortcut to your blog on their iPhone it will also be used as the icon there.
The WordPress Team comes up with cool stuff even beyond the awesomeness of their blogging software!

I suppose the 8BIT sites already have their Blavatars / Favicons. What about you?
Stephen Bateman says
Is that just WP.com?
I guess they’re trying to get more people to get avatars. Up next will be gravablavamavatars (which will display your avatar on your website, as well as in the sky.
But it’s good, I’ve always been confused why *so many* people don’t get gravatars.
Marcus Williamson says
Awesomeness! Someone in my office just yelled Blavatar!!!!!!!!!!!
Andrew says
I like that the Blavatar shows up in trackbacks. I have to admit, I get a little jealous of some of the slick stuff wordpress.com users get that self-hosted WP bloggers don’t.
John Saddington says
seriously…….
Laurinda says
It must be for WP.com. Does WP.org have something similar?
John Saddington says
