Or perhaps what is it missing?
I downloaded Google’s Voice App for my iPhone yesterday and I wasn’t too impressed. Sure, I don’t have to login via the web service but I was hoping for a little bit more.
I suppose the problem is that my critique is quite hollow since I’ve found myself using it less and less. I really enjoyed using it for a while and then suddenly I wasn’t using it anymore.
Probably the best thing about the app is that it’s fast.
What are your thoughts? Are you a “power user” of Google Voice? Love to hear your thoughts.

I think you answered your own question — you don’t use it much, so you don’t see the value it. Really, it’s Apple’s fault for not allowing the app sooner. If they had, perhaps you’d have been using it more by now.
In my case, that was a big factor in the switch to Droid (Gmail being the biggest reason). Even with this new update, Voice is much more integrated on Droid and can do some cool stuff.

Same here. I had a GoogleVoice icon shorcut on my homescreen, and so this is just a replacement. The big issue (which *most* iPhone GoogleVoice users don’t know about) is that it initiating calls via Google Voice on your iPhone actually does NOT avoid using your cellular plan minutes.
Using Sipgate and/or Gizmo5 + Truephone are options that do get at that objective though.
