Doh! It’s coming, but you have to make sure you have the right handset!
Netflix announced it on their blog (and their using Blogger…? …) and it appears to be an issue with DRM and security.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Which handsets? No one knows; even Netflix doesn’t know yet.
Are you a Netflix user? Do you plan on using it on your mobile device? I, for one, have increased the use of it on my iPad for my daughter, but not my iPhone.

Big netflix user, but I can’t imagine watching it on my Android. I have hulu and I hardly use it. Just not enough downtime on the go.

I use netflix all the time on my Mac, sometimes on the iPad, but I don’t even have it installed on my iPhone.
I LOL’d at “and their using Blogger…?”

Not trying to bash Android, I think it’s a great OS with a lot of potential. But I do think this situation is what happens when you have so many handsets, each with their own carrier specific software loaded on them. Netflix isn’t the only app that can’t support all Android handsets, I’ve noticed Square only supports certain ones as well, and I’m sure there are other companies out there having to make the same choice.

I agree, this would be a good example of what Steve Jobs meant when he referred to Android as “fragmented”.

I could definitely seeing myself using this, assuming that it works on my phone…
