Like we need another Content Management System, right…?
Actually, we probably do. And having more choices can be a very good thing because one size does not fit all circumstances and situations!
So, have you heard about this new Open Source AJAX-powered CMS?
ModX is a new CMS that I’ve just discovered and I’ll be checking it out this week.
Here are a couple site examples that have used it to create their properties:

Reminds of Joomla in a lot of ways. Ease of theming and code reliability is where it will likely live or die.

Wow, I tried this out a few years ago.. they have definitely stepped up their game

Those look good. I’m just starting to dip my toe in the water of CMS (beyond WordPress that is)…I’ll check it out.

Slick! I wonder how well it caters to handicapped users..?
Ajax and accessibility don’t always go well together. Purists say degradation for handicapped users is key for accessibility and usually argue for it 100% of the time.
Depending on the audience, I personally think it’s fine if sites don’t degrade but … what about you guys?
Jared Erickson says
I think it’s the backend that is ajax specific.. so it should not effect handicapped audience..

🙂

Wow Jared is right. Stepped it up. We took a look at this a few years back as we were developing the CMS that we use for our clients.
Like Stephen, I’m thinking of stepping out and playing with more personal development. I’m beginning to get more dangerous. Lynda is a beautiful thing.
