It may look like a nightclub, but it’s a church.
This has got to be the most modern church I’ve ever seen!
This brightly lit church is certainly “cutting edge.”
What do you think about this church building?
Although it’s certainly no Crystal Cathedral, it is most certainly contemporary.
Why do so many churches look similar?

Jacob Gillespie says
It’s not a church, it’s a church building. 🙂
Nice design, though.
Eric Dye says
😀
kolby says
that is one crazy church building!
Eric Dye says
More like AWESOME 😀
Randal Kay says
Cold and austere, but I am sure the pastor can get his point across, or at least cut a new angle on the passage for the day, and I am sure the congregation always gets a new slant on things.
Eric Dye says
Ba-dum-DISH!
Daniel Milner says
Wow, that would give me a headache!
Eric Dye says
It’s like a Matrix church, eh?
Charles Specht says
Wow. I don’t think I’d be able to pay attention to what was happening during the service because I’d be looking around all the time.
Eric Dye says
This would explain all the boring churches in the world … 😉

i find it less distracting than churches with stain glass, statues of saints, and stations of the cross surrounding and detracting your attention from the altar.
to me, the architect was attempting to approximate the standard vision of a white, spacey cloudy heaven. it’s bright, it’s clean, its space is difficult to discern when first entering it (much like the expanse of heaven). it’s perfect. more churches should aim to follow suit – remove the pomp of the old traditions and focus on what matters – the delivery of message.
April says
I’m with most of you, that’s really distracting for me, but I’m easily distracted…squirrel! Plus it’s very bright!
Eric Dye says
I’m sorry, what were you saying?
Bezalel says
Nice architecture.
True that it can be distracting but that should not be an issue after attending the church services a couple of times.
It’s weird-ish, but yeah, I wouldn’t mind going there.
Love it. It will appeal to the right people that God draws there.
Eric Dye says
Plus, it might not be as distracting in person or after your third or fourth time attending.
jblaha says
Wow! I love the modern architecture!
Eric Dye says
No doubt! I think we could use a few more churches like this one.
Eric J says
The most interesting thing to me is that most of the congregation looked like they were over 50 and it appeared that only 50 or so people attend, from the photos it appears that this is a (literally) dying church :(. Hopefully the photos were not representative of the true congregational mix or this church WILL be a night club in 10-20 years when they have to sell the building.
Eric Dye says
Good call.
Ruben Nunez says
Well, its a chapel. I don’t see the term congregation or dying church applying here. This is more like a sanctuary where they would hold occasional services and be a place for prayer/contemplation. It makes sense that they would be 50 or less people here.
Eric Dye says
True-true.
Dustin W. Stout says
Love the building! Hate the corpse hanging on the wall that looks like he’s from a Tim Burton movie.
Eric Dye says
Great building.
paul says
would you rather it looked like buddy jesus?
it’s jesus on a cross. not jesus riding a rainicorn (google it). it’s supposed to be somewhat morbid. reminds one of the suffering he endured for our sins.
Jeff says
INAUTHENTIC
Eric Dye says
How so? #curious
