5 Things that Will Happen with Church Technology in 2016

People have been putting together their top list of things they think may happen with technology in 2016. As a counselor, I live in the world of what I can control and so I want to do a similar list, but with what I can influence. So this blog article looks at the top 10 things that will happen in 2016 with church technology.

I’ll be honest, this is a completely biased list of things I would love to see done and goals that I have for ChurchMag this year. It does require more than just my voice, but I believe these are thoughts imparted from God for our community (That’s not a Jesus-juke, it’s what I truly hold to).

#Struggles by Craig Groeschel [Saturday Morning Review]

This is an interesting book that feels backwards. The premise of the book is discussed right away, but it is not until the last chapter that he discusses who his audience may be for this book, “those that have a love/hate relationship with technology…” Further, he states that the purpose of this book is not to trash on technology, but then proceeds to do so in every single chapter with how we use it and it completely disrupts our life.

7 Apps that Changed My Life in 2015

Last year I wrote a post about some apps that had actually made a significant difference in my life. Not apps which were “just another [insert category]” or apps to fiddle away and waste time on, but apps that made tangible differences in certain aspects of my life. The common thread was that they all helped me start certain good activities in my life. All those apps are still important to me, but it made me wonder:

What apps would I mention this year? What were the applications that really made a big difference in my life?

The Best Tech of 2015 [Video]

With it being the end of the year, we see a lot of “best of’s,” including within the technology industry. The world of gadgets has seen a huge rise in stuff this year: drones, tablets to replace notebooks, phones that are replacing tablets, Windows making a HUGE comeback, and stuff that can kill us (besides the previously stated drones).

This video by Mashable covers them all. Honestly though, I would love to see their 30 second version, cutting out a lot of the fat.

New Year Power-Ups: Apps for New Year Resolutions

The New Year is a great time to take stock of your life, where you’re at, where you (and more importantly God) want to go and what you are doing that you should/shouldn’t be doing. It’s also a great time to level up your life in one way or another. Of course, this motivation is key for your success but there are some handy app tools that can help you out and increase the likelihood of you achieving your resolutions.
