Although the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus boast a few great new features, the standout feature is the new portrait mode which creates depth maps using the two cameras and then blurring the background to create something which looks like it was taken with a very expensive camera.

If, like me, you don’t have several hundred dollars to spend on a new phone (and you prefer a smaller phone) then there maybe a partial solution for you with Patch, a new iOS app.

What Makes Great Trial Versions?

Every now and then new apps are developed. Reviews then follow. If the developers are marketing savvy, they’ll get influencers etc. to review them early around release time. It is usually on these reviews one has to make a decision: “To buy or not to buy?” Among other things, ChurchMag does a good job in reviewing apps. GoodNotes: A Good Notetaking app for iOS

With the start of the new academic year, I took a look at a lot of the apps I use on my iPad to help teach. Some of my pre-existing tools stayed, but in a few cases I wondered if there was something better that could do the job I had been doing better. To allow me to create a better teaching environment for my students. During this process I came across Goodnotes as it was recommended on the MacPowerUser’s episode with Teddy Svoronos. If you are looking for a good note taking tool, and one that can help you conduct presentation on your iPad, then you should look at good notes.

Google Assistant vs Siri 2016 [Video]

Google is making a big deal about the Google assistant in the new Pixel phones and Allo app.

But is it really all that different from Siri?

After all, Siri and previous versions of the Google Voice assistance have been around for a few years. In the video below, Marques Brownlee (or MKBHD) takes both of them through their paces by asking them to do some simple tasks.

Instagram is a huge platform and definitively one that your church should serious look at using if it isn’t. The strong visual component of Instagram, integration with Facebook and the mobile first approach has made it one of the stand out social networks out there. But, as Instagram doesn’t have the retweeting abilities of twitter or sharing of Facebook, it can be harder to get discovered compared with other social networks.

So how can you build a following?
