Joulebug – The Fun Way to Save the Planet

How evironmentally-friendly is your church?  As Christians, part of our responsibility is for the care of God’s creation.  Yet, many churches are nowhere near being considered ‘green’ in today’s world.  But now, a new app promises to turn that around.

Joulebug officially launched at the beginning of October, and still has a ways to go.  Android is listed as “coming soon”, and the iOS version is designed for iPhones with an ugly 2x scaling on iPads.  Yet despite the ‘beta’ feel of the app, it holds a good deal of promise.

ChurchMag Hangouts: 02 Church Tech Christmas List

I love the idea of several Christian-oriented nerds discussing in a very informal setting tech of some sort that may be beneficial for churches, bloggers, missionaries, and any other kind of ministry out there. To do this well, we are going to have hangouts every other Saturday (or so) at 10AM EST that will be On Air for all to see live and then we will be posting the YouTube video on ChurchMag.

Phones have been called our lifelines to the world and for many people, they are the most personal things that we own. For those of you in ministry, smartphones are a great option because you always go to meetings early, the people you are meeting do not show up on time (if at all), and so you have a solid twenty minutes that you could be checking your email, sending teens a Facebook message, or going over your sermon one last time. For bloggers and business people, smartphones can give you an advantage of connecting with clients and viewers at all times, making them invaluable.

How Kids Use Tablets [Infographic]

As a parent of a five-year-old boy, I know from experience how much kids love tablets. My son plays with my iPad all the time and he can easily select and play various games of his choice. He loves playing Angry Birds and he’s getting the hang of Airmail.

He was actually quite upset when the YouTube app disappeared with the latest iOS update, because it’s a lot harder for him to watch videos now. For him, using a tablet is completely intuitive.
