Tripped Into a Linux Love Affair
My geekery will get me in trouble one of these days.
I was playing on my new dual-core piece of Android goodness, the HTC EVO 4G LTE, which replaced my first foray into Android, the original HTC EVO 4G. As y’all know, I had ruminated publicly about going to iOS, and opted to stay with Android, but had been quite satisfied with the OG EVO till the EVO LTE dropped.
As most people acquainted with my tech side know, I consider it a personal affront (yes, to myself) to have a stock Android device for more than a few minutes. So, I promptly jumped on XDA Forums to get some SU info as soon as the device hit my hands.

For about a year, I’ve been wondering why we’re still charged for data, voice, and text messages separately.
Isn’t it all just data?
For some time, I’ve known that text messages weren’t something special, although your carrier would have you think they were. Some phones even provide text-like services. With an iPhone there’s iMessage; with Blackberry there’s BBM.
About a year ago, I discovered Talkatone as a way to call out using data instead of minutes, using my Google voice number.

Will the Google Nexus 7 Tablet Succeed?
The tablet “wars” continue. Hot on the heels of the release of the Microsoft Surface, Google has released the Nexus 7 tablet that runs on the Google Android OS. The ‘7’ is an obvious reference to the size, which is 7″, naturally. A video and specs after the jump.
The Tension of A Mobile Device: Quality vs. Quantity
Back when I was in my high school age years, I was involved in drama.
My family would faithful attend performances over the years, and without fail, my Dad would video tape — yes tape — the entire performance.
It was awesome. Not only could I see how well I did following the performance, I now have those videos to share with my kids.
