If you haven’t figured it out by now, Android is my mobile OS of choice. It’s flexibility, openness, and customizability have me invested deeply into Android’s ecosystem. I customize my homescreen almost every day, download (and delete) scores of apps in a week, and chat with tons of Android designers on Google Plus. I’ve got my ear to the ground when it comes to new and up-and-coming Android features and trends. One trend I’m seeing more and more is customizable lockscreen replacements. Hit that continue reading button to learn what they are, what they mean for your ministry, and my very own recommendation. [Read more…] about Android Spotlight: Lockscreen Replacements
Sucked Into Tech
Last week I was trying to rock my beautiful baby girl to sleep. Poor little one was over tired, so it was talking a little bit longer than normal. Finally, she calmed down but wouldn’t close her eyes! That’s when I started to get bored. I got a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and I wanted to wake my wife up just to pass me my phone (I didn’t, by the way). I imagine that is what it is like for a smoker to be itching for a cigarette. Just needed to check my notifications, messages, and email. After all, you never know who needs to talk at 1am!
That’s when it hit me: Am I really thinking this? Feeling this way? I’m holding my brand new baby girl, and wishing I had my phone to keep me company? Surely this isn’t me! But the more I thought about it, the more I came to realize that I’ve been sucked into technology and the wonders it offered me.
Have you ever felt this way?

YouVersion's Bible App For Kids

At this point, the details are light with a release date of late 2013 and their Bible.com/kids page as a signup page for you to get a text message when the application is available to download. Below is a list of things that we can gather from the application as well as some things we would love to see from it as well.
