Most meetings are a complete waste of time.

I said it.
Ever since college I’ve thought this, and even after I hit the business world my view of meetings has not changed. Sure, there are those exceptions, but for the most part, meetings are a waste.
Here’s a few reasons why:

By properly dealing with these “meeting villains,” you can up the effectiveness and lower the waste most meetings produce.
Remember: Just because you’re having a meeting for church, doesn’t mean you’re immune of such villains!

At my work, we call them meeting robbers. We actually do classes on how not to be a meeting robber, and put up “Wanted” posters around the office.
For a while we were also handing out citations and commendations for when people were, or were not, being a meeting robber.
