Check this out…
Although the framework isn’t slated for release until later this year, the jQuery Mobile team has road-mapped and demoed what we can expect:
- Progressive enhancement
- Cross platform compatibility across iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, webOS, and more.
- ThemeRoller-based design
And thanks from the contribution from the jQuery UI team, an entire suite of layouts and widgets are going to be provided:
Client-side application programming is one of those things that I’m personally extremely interested in doing. Mix that in with mobile device development, and I’m sold.
Ready for this to be released!

This is very good news! I was very worried that jqtouch support was going to fall to the wayside now that it is a sencha labs project. Also, I wasn’t all that excited about learning sencha touch/paying for sencha touch.
the jquery team putting out a framework is amazing. It looks like they’re going to support a lot of controls too.
very exciting!
