For some inexplicably nerdy reason, my heart goes “pitter-patter” when I see great visuals projected in a unusual environment.
As you look through these videos, do you think the future could see the church using this technique more often?
Are there any practical applications for the church?
Right now, it still has the “novelty factor” that color TV or 3D did when it was first introduced.
But do you ever think projection mapping will become commonplace within the church?
While you’re thinking, check out a few amazing examples of projection mapping in action:
Timelapse of setup in an auditorium:
….And people can project on anything….from a few cardboard boxes…
To entire buildings!
You need some special software working in conjunction with your (insanely high powered) projectors to get the surface geometry right (like VDMX), but the results are way impressive!
What do you think?
Can you think of any specific uses for projection mapping within the church?
