First off, a big THANK-YOU to all of our American Veterans! 🙂
This time-lapse video (below) is of U.S. Army Veteran Jim Wolf. He has struggled with alcoholism, poverty and homelessness for many years; but thankfully, there was an awesome non-profit organization by the name of Degage Ministries.
Local filmmaker Rob Bliss got together with Degage Ministries (which is in Grand Rapids, Mich.), a stylist, and product team, to create this amazing time-lapse video of Wolf’s several-hour long makeover. The idea was to create some awareness of those that are ignored and passed by every day. This is the result of that project, a project that’s now gone viral:

Isn’t that great!?!
Isn’t that the hope of every non-profit organization? That their message would go viral?
The story doesn’t stop here, however, as Jim Wolf decided to turn his life around following his onscreen transformation. For the first time in his life, he has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous and has even received housing. The physical change on the outside has launched him into a change on the inside!
What captured me most about this project, was the simplicity of it. There were no fancy slogans or over the top production. They simply recorded a guys makeover in time-lapse, but even more to the core of the matter, they told a story of one man.
It’s easy to get caught-up in statistics and slogans, but when it comes down to it, it’s telling one story that resonates with people that makes the greatest impact.
Thoughts?

Wow. Totally started choking up watching this.
Although they aren’t homeless, I am the son of 2 hard-working veterans. Thank you for this.
