Drupal Commons, a Social Business Software suite, is essentially best understood as an online community platform that’ll include such features as groups, forums, blogs, wikis, events, and more.
Such use-cases might be for your organization and/or business to create more advanced collaboration, a corporate social network, a niche community, and more.
It’s set to release this summer is is obviously based of the Open Source Drupal platform and will be released publicly under the GPL licensing.

8Bit on Drupal perhaps?
Dan Perdue says
I’m a big fan of Drupal and have been using it for a few years. We use it at our church, and I think it’s a good fit for a lot of church websites because of its extensibility and flexibility. The problem is, it’s been said that Drupal doesn’t have so much as a learning curve as a learning brick wall. Once you get passed that though, you realize the power and flexibility. I’m looking forward to Acquia releasing Drupal Commons and seeing if it’s the right fit for our church as a private social network of sorts.
