She looks so happy!
Someone passed me this link which I thought was awesome! AudioTreasure has free mp3’s for every book of the bible in a few versions.
They are free and public domain so you can put them on your computer or iPod.
Dave Williams, who I believe curated this list, deserves some serious props.

This is great! Hopefully their AdSense campaign will bring in some money for a decent website design!

perhaps!

If you’re looking for an Audio Bible for download, you should also check out:

Especially if you’re looking for specific languages.

🙂 i believe we’ve covered that here too!
thanks for the tip!

Free is always nice, so for that the link is really useful. I’m not really a fan of any of the versions, though, so I probably won’t use the site that much.
However, the ESV has the ability to download MP3s from their website. You can read about the API here: http://www.esv.org/blog/2008/11/mp3-api/ (I’m not a developer, so I can’t really make much sense of that).
You can also download up to 500 verses at a time directly. Here’s the link to the Sermon on the Mount audio file (save the page as an MP3 and you’ll have it): http://audio.esvonline.org/hw/40005001-40007029
To access the MP3s you have to change your listening settings from Flash to MP3. You can do it here: http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/options/
I should write up a blog post of my own on how to do this, since this comment is probably longer than your post is.

🙂 you’re awesome.

I like the different options like “soft music background” but no NIV or NLT? Booo.

Any chance on them getting a better design on their page? lol
Great thing to have though.

I’m not one to do too much web “design”, but I know enough about SEO and Google regulations for placement to get more hits on a page. This site is terrible about it. Even I clicked on the top headings under “…Available for download” section and was taken to Google search! Is this person getting paid by these “clicks” ? WOW, I don’t get it John. Please help me understand… it seems like a deceptive practice. Doesn’t Google have a person agree on their Adsense, etc not to place Google ads to cause people to mistakenly click or to drive hits based on deceptive placement? Sorry for the rant. Just confused and frustrated…
Thanks
John Saddington says
it’s a gray area at times but generally speaking you don’t want to be deceptive… but that depends on who’s asking, right?
i think it’s just generally bad form.

So, I said I’d blog about it and I did. I think what I ended up with could be the best blog post I’ve ever done. Read it here: http://kevinrossen.com/religion/five-easy-ways-to-listen-to-the-esv-audio-bible-for-free-anytime-anywhere/

killed it!
