Don Miller shares a few thoughts on how to become more productive – ready?
Turn. Off. Your. Phone.
Ok, now you can breathe:
I’ve said it before but it bares repeating…If you want to get some quality work done, turn off your phone. Of course, this may not apply to some of you.
If you work at a call bank, obviously, or if your job requires you are able to be contacted, then you have to keep it on.
But if you do creative work, or if you are able to go two to three hours without a phone, I think you’ll find the time remarkably productive.
It’s true, you know. It’s really true.
For me I simply do not pick up the phone and I don’t answer any calls from numbers I don’t recognize. Win.
Brian Spessard says
Yep. I hardly ever answer my phone. And I rarely call people back. If you leave me a voicemail, it will never get checked, just deleted.
I have terrible phone etiquette.
You’re much better off emailing or texting me. Yep, I’m THAT guy..
